HIMEX CORPORATION established itself as a trusted name in the medical industry through the importation and distribution of advanced medical equipment, securing key commissioning contracts for major Japan grant-aid (JICA) projects in the Philippines and beyond.

Our engineering expertise was instrumental in supporting healthcare institutions like the Philippine General Hospital (PGH), Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC), Philippine Heart Center (PHC), Benguet General Hospital (BGH), and the Department of Health (DOH).

With a strong foundation of reliable service and technical support, HIMEX has built enduring relationships with healthcare providers across the Philippines. As the long-time distributor of MRI, CT-Scan, X-Ray, and Ultrasound systems, we utilized strategic partnerships to deliver high-quality, innovative imaging solutions.

This year marks an exciting new chapter as we establish a partnership with Canon Medical Systems, ensuring that we continue to provide advanced diagnostic technology that meets the evolving demands of modern healthcare.

Throughout our history, HIMEX has been at the forefront of medical innovation. We were the first to supply MRI systems in several regions, including Cagayan Valley, Iloilo, and Capiz, and introduced the first superconductive MRI systems in Northern Mindanao, Davao City, and Southern Luzon. In ultrasound, we revolutionized the market with the Hitachi EUB-405, a compact and mobile system celebrated for its performance and durability. We also pioneered Real-time Elastography, which became a game-changing tool in breast cancer diagnosis.

In 2007, we recognized the growing need for high-field imaging systems in government hospitals, yet understood the financial challenges. In response, we introduced a novel “Joint-Venture” model, starting with Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center, where we installed new imaging systems and rehabilitated radiology departments with no government outlay. This initiative has since expanded to over 10 government hospitals, significantly improving clinical outcomes for more than a million indigent patients.
