HIMEX Corporation joins Canon Workshop and SGCR-WIRES 2025 in Singapore
SINGAPORE, 29–31 August 2025 – HIMEX Corporation participated in the Canon Workshop Session held at the Center for Healthcare Innovation, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, as well as the SGCR-WIRES 2025 Convention at the Singapore Expo.
The series of events highlighted the latest innovations in diagnostic and interventional imaging, showcasing Canon’s leadership in advancing healthcare technology.

Canon Workshop: Exploring the Power of Angio-CT
The pre-conference workshop brought together experts and clinicians to dive deep into the applications of Angio-CT, a technology increasingly transforming interventional radiology. Discussions focused on its use in geriatric medicine, oncology planning and treatment, and CT planning for pain therapy management, areas where precision and minimally invasive solutions make a tangible difference for patients.
Himex Corporation representatives who attended were Dr. Deo Lobrido, MD, MBA, FPSE, MPH, MMIHCS, MMHoA , Dr. Rudolf Kuhn , and Dr. Armina Jose, PhD, alongside Dr. Yasuaki Arai, a pioneer in developing the CT-Angio system. The session set the tone for the days to follow: innovation anchored in collaboration.

Day 1 – SGCR-WIRES 2025 Opens
On August 29, the Garnet Room at the Singapore Expo came alive with the theme “Breaking Barriers in Interventions.” Delegates from across Asia and beyond gathered to witness demonstrations of Canon’s cutting-edge technologies.
Dr. Rudolf Kuhn was particularly engaged in discussions surrounding the Canon CT-Angio, Cathlab, and Ultrasound Machines. Attendees were impressed by live showcases of:
-
CT-Angio applications in interventional radiology and cardiology
-
Vitrea workstation for advanced imaging analysis
-
SMI-Angio ultrasound application, pushing the boundaries of vascular imaging
The day underscored Canon’s commitment to providing clinicians with tools that improve outcomes while simplifying workflows.

Day 2 – Diving into Cardiac Imaging
The second day offered a deep dive into the fast-evolving world of Cardiac CT and Cardiac MRI. Esteemed speakers shared their expertise across a wide range of topics:
-
CT and Invasive Angiography: Complementary Modalities – Dr. Keh Yann Shan (Singapore)
-
When Should We Consider Cardiac MRI – Assoc. Prof. Calvin Chin (Singapore)
-
Coronary Plaque Imaging: Predicting and Improving Cardiovascular Outcomes – Dr. Uppaluri Srinivas Anandswaroop (Singapore)
-
Cardiac CT in the West vs. Asia: A Comparative Look – Dr. Jeevendran Vimal Raj (India)
-
Photon Counting CT and Cardiac Imaging – Asst. Prof. Tilman Emrich (Germany)
The insights revealed how imaging not only diagnoses but also predicts outcomes, giving physicians a proactive edge.
On the sidelines, connections were strengthened as discussions turned toward collaborative opportunities between Singapore and the Philippines, particularly in training sessions for Cardiac CT and MRI workshops.
The day also featured the Canon Lunch Symposium, where delegates were introduced to the Aquilion Rise CT system, innovations in Photon Counting CT (PCCT), ultra-high resolution Cardiac CT, and the seamless INSTINX Workflow. To round things off, participants engaged in a CT-Angio Workshop for Beginners, bridging theory with practice.

Day 3 – Learning from the Mayo Clinic
he final day was marked by a standout lecture from Prof. Christine “Cooky” Menias of the Mayo Clinic. With her signature clarity and depth, she guided the audience through imaging and treatment approaches for abdominal, hematologic, and immunologic cancers.
The session resonated strongly, particularly with interventional and abdominal radiologists like Dr. Rudolf Kuhn, who expressed admiration for the Mayo Clinic’s expertise and the way complex cases were presented with practical clarity. The entire room left with a sense of awe and renewed inspiration.
As the event concluded, delegates departed Singapore carrying not just new knowledge, but also stronger connections and shared goals for the future of interventional radiology. Both Dr. Kuhn and Dr. Lobrido expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to participate, extending thanks for the unwavering support of Mrs. Rema Padilla Ohno, HIMEX President and CEO, and Mr. Yoshihiro Ohno, HIMEX EVP for Sales and Modality.
The Canon Workshop and SGCR-WIRES 2025 highlighted how innovation and collaboration can break barriers in interventions. HIMEX Corporation carries this mission forward by delivering world-class MRI, CT, X-ray, and ultrasound solutions, trusted by over 20 hospitals and 2 million patients nationwide.
